Pochettino bombshell could spell the end for Tottenham enforcer

Mauricio Pochettino has said Tottenham were too "nice" to influence the referee as he thinks their opponents Juventus did in this week's Champions League defeat to the Serie A club.

A 2-1 loss at Wembley on Wednesday to the Italians ended a memorable European campaign 4-3 on aggregate and much has been written since about Tottenham's lack of silverware under Pochettino.

The Cherries are the 13th best side at home in the top flight, taking 19 of 42 points.

"Look at the second half: many fouls that wasn't fouls, many times they started the game with the ball moving, players inside the box on goal kicks - you need to take it again!"

The Lilywhites will also hope that Crystal Palace can turn their form around and defeat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

"That, I think, is the most important". In the Premier League this doesn't happen. And that's looking increasingly likely.

"We of course complained about Barzagli's stamp on Son in the first half".

Until the first match played at the Bernabeu, Zidane's team seemed a shadow in comparison with the one that finished brilliantly the last season.

"It is good sometimes to feel the pain, disappointment".

"The owner stayed in the corridor, in the tunnel before and during the game".

'It is a club with a culture to try to do everything to help the team.

The measure of Spurs' progression has not only been highlighted by their recent showings in the Champions League, as domestic victories over Manchester United and Arsenal have both offered signs of a Tottenham side growing all the time.

I've seen the good, the bad and the ugly from Bournemouth this season but they have some steel to them - as they showed in their comeback against Newcastle - and the ability to cause an upset.

"There were a couple [of Tottenham] fans - very vocal - next to my bench, who went missing after the 80th minute, so yeah, I enjoyed it. Plus, winning at Wembley is always special".

Higuain, the man who missed the chances to put the first leg out of Tottenham's reach, this time made no mistake when he hooked in Sami Khedira's header at the far post. Then it's a balance. "Still disappointed. Of course yesterday was worse, today was a little bit better and I'm sure tomorrow better still", Pochettino said.

If Spurs can overcome the Swans, they are just two games away from FA Cup glory. "I believe those details can help the club".

"I am not complaining".

"It's a pleasure to be here".

Tottenham will attempt to overcome their frustration in Sunday's trip to Bournemouth, for which Eric Dier is in doubt with an elbow injury. For us, it's too early to judge us in this way because the process is a long one.
