In this final sentencing, a minimum of 25 to 40 years is expected to be added to Nassar's already hefty prison sentence. In all, more than 265 women and girls have reported abuse by Nassar, a Michigan judge said during that sentencing hearing today. But in a letter addressed to USA Gymnastics last week, the U.S. Olympic Committee called for bigger changes and asked for the resignation of every single member.

According to the plea agreement, the assaults took place between 2009 and 2011 at Twistars Gymnastics Club in Eaton County, with two of the victims aged between 13 and 15 and another aged younger than 13. Last week, Geddert was suspended by USA Gymnastics.

As for where and what the Olympian will study, Simone will enroll in the program for business administration at a University based in California. "But other than that, she was a boss and she was absolutely amazing". Both USA Gymnastics and Michigan State have denied wrongdoing.

Michigan's attorney general's office said they are still receiving new complaints from women who said they were abused by Nassar.

In 2016, The Indianapolis Star initiated the fall of the doctor after publishing accounts of abuse experienced by Rachael Denhollander. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., attributed the success of the bill to "the incredibly courageous women who decided to come forward, share their pain and do all they could to make sure this dark chapter is never repeated".

This time he's pleaded guilty to three counts of criminal sexual conduct.

The bill would also mean more strict oversight of gymnasiums, amateur sports organizations and coaches.

"You are the most vile, disgusting creature I've ever met. Scum of the earth is too high of a title for you", victim Katherine Ebert told the former USA Gymnastics physician as he sat glumly at the defense table wearing an orange jumpsuit in the Charlotte courtroom.

Additionally, the law limits one-on-one interactions with minors and adults, and it requires governing bodies for amateur athletes to install "reasonable procedures" to prevent abuse.
