Bayer Leverkusen v Bayern Munich: Watch Stream Of Leon Bailey

13 Enero 2018

Bundesliga leaders FC Bayern München beat Bayer 04 Leverkusen 3-1 at the BayArena on Friday night, although they did not have things all their own way.

Bailey plans to prove against Bayern that the Jamaican winger is even quicker with the ball at his feet than close friend Usain Bolt.

Munich closed out the first half of the season with four straight wins and three consecutive clean sheets.

The Jamaican winger darted into the right side of the penalty area and left Sule in knots, before chipping a left-footed effort on to the bar.

Volland pulled one back via a deflection of Niklas Sule in the 70th minute to usher in a period of intense Leverkusen pressure, but Bayern - who introduced new signing Sandro Wagner late on - wrapped things up through James' exquisite stoppage-time free-kick to increase their lead at the top ahead of Schalke's trip to RB Leipzig on Saturday.

Leverkusen had not lost in 12 league matches prior to the mid-season break but on its return, that run came to a juddering halt at the hands of the Bayern juggernaut. "We don't have enough natural goalscorers so we have to try and work on that without losing our defensive qualities".

Bayern paid Hoffenheim around €13 million (US$15.4m) last month for Wagner, who was signed as back-up for their top-scoring striker Robert Lewandowski.

"The joy of playing is back again", said Mueller. Third-placed Dortmund will be hoping to continue their recovery under new coach Peter Stoeger, having won their last two league matches before the break, when they host VfL Wolfsburg on Sunday.

"You know when you play in Leverkusen it is always a difficult game".

Moments later the home team were made to pay the price for the near miss as Ribéry was picked out on the wing by James. However, James Rodríguez sealed the victory with a stunning free-kick in injury time.

In the 17th minute, a fine strike from Arturo Vidal from a tight angle forced Bernd Leno to turn the ball behind for a corner. Leverkusen definitely don't want to start falling to the wrong end of that crowd, and a shocking win over Bayern would not only help them start to gain separation from the pack, it would help them gain some much-needed momentum to keep pulling away.
