Mourinho plotting January swoop for Valencia's Carlos Soler

15 Noviembre 2017

Manchester United are keeping tabs on Valencia winger Carlos Soler.

However, he has found it very difficult to do so, with links to Gareth Bale and Alexis Sanchez proving to be unfounded, and the pursuit of Inter Milan's Ivan Perisic leading him nowhere.

He has started all 11 games in the league so far, picking up a goal and four assists in the process.

The 29-year-old wrote on his blog: "We return to training with the mindset on the Newcastle match and the importance of the months that lie ahead".

Sources inside the Spanish club insist that Soler, an academy product, is way down the list of players that they want to sell but, equally, concede that a big offer from United would force the hand of a club still struggling to balance the books.

According to the same story, Mourinho wants Manchester United to sign two new wingers, one centre-half and one midfielder to improve his Red Devils squad.

United could let Mata leave the club in January as they look to cash in on a player whose contract expires at the end of the campaign.

Mourinho is committed to United for now.
