Benzema Latest Of Four Stars To Sign New Real Contract

20 Setiembre 2017

But Madrid won't be going through the same situation with Karim Benzema after the Frenchman signed a new contract.

Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema has agreed a four-year contract extension with the Spanish giants.

The 29-year-old striker is suffering with a hamstring injury and is not included in Madrid's squad to face Real Betis on Wednesday.

His deal had been set to expire in 2019, and the new deal means he will remain at the Bernabeu past his 33rd birthday.

With real Madrid Karim Benzema won 14 trophies, including three victories in the Champions League.

Isco, Marcelo and Dani Carvajal all recently committed their futures to Real too, where they will continue their exciting journey under manager Zinedine Zidane.

Real's rivals Barca were caught off-guard when Paris St Germain triggered the 222 million euro buyout clause in Neymar's contract, which paved the way for the Brazil forward to move to the French club in August. At least that's the case according to Spanish football writer Guillem Balague, who tweeted to say that the chance of the Poland captain swapping Bavaria for the Spanish capital is getting 'slowly smashed'.
