Microsoft reveals Windows 10 Pro for Workstations aimed at powerful PCs

11 Agosto 2017

If security companies get more help resolving these issues, less solutions may be removed due to incompatibilities.

Microsoft had denied breaking any laws and said that its goal was to help protect Windows 10 customers from cyber security threats. The resolution will not be immediate, it will be the Fall Creators Update which brings this change as well as changing the permissions of third party AV messages. Data is copied from RAM to the NVDIMM, while the system sees the DRAM as standard RAM.

The newest edition of Windows will launch alongside the Fall Creators Update later this year.

Windows 10 Pro for Workstations will have "unique support for server grade hardware", according to Microsoft, "and (is) designed to meet demanding needs of mission critical and compute intensive workloads".

We will enable AV providers to use their own alerts and notifications to renew antivirus products before and after they have expired.

"We have modified how Windows will inform users when their antivirus application has expired and is no longer protecting them", wrote Lefferts. Now, instead of displaying a discreet notification that users could ignore, Windows 10 will display a persistent notification that will stay on your screen until you: renew your existing security solution, opt for Windows Defender, or choose another solution.

The antivirus vendor also added it would be taking all the steps to withdraw its complaint from both Russian and EU probing bodies. "We are grateful Microsoft is addressing these issues completely, making sure that both partnerships and diversity are preserved on the market for both user and industry benefit", Kaspersky Lab said in a statement.

Additionally, Windows 10 will allow security companies to show their own notifications, including prompts to update software to the latest version, in the operating system's notification panel.

Resilient file system (ReFS): ReFS provides cloud-grade resiliency for data on fault-tolerant storage spaces and manages very large volumes with ease. It claimed that the Redmond giant is removing Kaspersky's software in favor of its own solution, Windows Defender.

Are you a loyal reader of notebookcheck? This is even more important given the growing number of malware attacks globally. Microsoft points out four, but two are perhaps the biggest. Since Microsoft addressed 100% of their concerns I guess that is good reason to be pleased.

In a blog, Kaspersky Lab says: "We sincerely believe that these changes will make the cybersecurity market healthier, resulting in better protection for all users". He is also fanatical about football which makes it all the more strange that he should support Stockport County.
