Tiemoué Bakayoko's Chelsea medical 'should' happen this week after latest delay - report

News of interest from United will be troubling to Chelsea supporters after the Red Devils hijacked the club's move for Lukaku.

It's almost as if Manchester United are utilizing Chelsea's scouting system than the Blues themselves as Chelsea ready themselves for another major blow this transfer window.

Bakayoko was a key part of the Monaco team that beat Paris Saint-Germain to the Ligue 1 title last season and reached the semi-finals of the Champions League.

While the attacking players grabbed the limelight with their prolific performances, Bakayoko managed to establish himself as an instrumental figure in Leonardo Jardim's side with his stellar performances at the centre of the park.

At Chelsea, Antonio Conte currently has the likes of N'Golo Kante, Nemanja Matic and Cesc Fabregas as his only recognised options. Bakayoko has been hinting at a move to London for quite some time now, and a United move for France international seems highly unlikely. Also in Spain, AS are reporting that Chelsea are to offer €80m for Álvaro Morata, that it might be enough to convince Real to sell, and that, Lukaku be damned, "he was always Conte's first choice".

A mainstay in midfield, the player amassed a staggering 51 appearances for Monaco last season, impressing everyone with his work-rate. Monday's edition of L'Equipe suggests things could be very close, because, really, they have to be.

Starsport understands the 24-year-old is still highly regarded by Mourinho and snubbed a permanent move to Middlesbrough earlier in the summer.

Talking of chequebooks, Everton recently found theirs down the back of a forgotten cupboard in a dusty Goodison Park storeroom and now they're going absolutely wild.

Yesterday, we covered a report (via Emanuele Giulianelli) claiming that Monaco star Fabinho wants to join the Red Devils.
